This custom Surly Pacer might be the cleanest build we’ve done. Just look at it. It’s so simple, but also very elegant. The subtly sparkly red paint, all-back build kit and the classy Brooks saddle and bar tape are just so good together.

The bike will be an everyday, all year round road / dirt road bike for the client. He had a pretty specific build list, so for the most part this was just about executing the details, but we’re pretty stoked on the most custom part of the build, which are the black-anodized Honjo fenders.
Hammered Honjos were what the customer wanted, but we felt that the stock polished aluminum of the fenders and stays would detract from the blackness of the wheels and grouppo. So we had them anodized, and they look sick, and really tie the build together.
Another aesthetic call was going with SRAM Apex shifters rather than Rival. The guts are he same, and the polished black alloy levers of Apex look better than the carbon Rivals would on this bike. Not to pat ourselves on the back too much, but this was one beautiful bike.
