There’s something special about bike touring- spending days aboard two wheels with new scenery around every bend and nothing but your legs to get you to your destination. We stock touring bikes suitable for cross-country adventures or epic commutes alike. We also carry a selection of fine touring gear and accessories for traditional pannier touring as well as bikepacking from brands like Revelate Designs, Arkel, Ortlieb, Tubus and more.
Below are some of the bike models we’re currently stocking, call if you don’t see what you’re looking for or want to discuss a custom build. Almost all of our touring bikes are also available as a frameset and we’re happy to work with you to build your dream bike.
Salsa Vaya Travel, 2 and 3 - Great choices for versatile touring bikes that don’t weigh a ton and give you modern options like integrated shifting on a steel frame with classic lines and a beautifully plush ride.
Salsa Fargo 2 and 3- Monster Truck drop bar 29er for mostly unpaved adventures.
Specialized AWOL and AWOL Comp- A do it all steel framed tourer with big tire clearance and belt/singlespeed compatibility in the case of the Comp.
Specialized Sirrus and Vita - Sure they’re not technically a touring bike but if you want to try touring without spending more than $1000 on a bike then these alloy-framed workhorses will get the job done with a few modifications like heavier-duty tires and a set of bar-ends.
Surly Cross Check- One of our all time faves for lighter touring setups. Versatile as all get out with all the right mounting points for gear.
Surly Straggler- Just like the Cross Check, but with disc brakes and a nicer build kit. A great new option from Surly- Now available in 650b!.
Surly Disc Trucker- The Disc Trucker is one of the few bikes that is ready for global-type tours right out of the box. Just add racks and fenders and get going. *We tend not to stock so many Truckers these days. Still a great bike- but we think you should read this if you’re thinking of a Surly Trucker. Sums up most of our thoughts.
Surly Ogre- The Ogre is basically a long-wheelbase rigid 29′er beefed up for extra stability when carrying weight. For 2014 the build gets upgraded with a Jones bar (multi-position comfort) as well as a few choice other bits.
Surly ECR - Enduro Camping Rig? Explore Camp Ride? Who knows what “ECR” means but any way you parse it it means capital A- Adventure. 29+ tires will take you over roots, rubble, rocks and even some sand/snow. Like an Ogre but even more so.
