We just finished up this Surly Straggler build, showing off the power of the disc brake/horizontal dropouts. An internally-geared Alfine 8 speed hub was matched to Shimano hydraulic disc brakes for the “ultimate city bike” type build. Upright, swept bars topped off by PDW’s new “Cork Chop” grips to match the Brooks saddle. All class, all the time.

Check it out- Kurt drilled out the cable stop to provide a clean routing point for full shift housing. It’s the little things that count- uninterrupted housing will keep the shifting smooth for a long time.
More choice details. Hydraulic brakes, fenders and internal gearing all making nice together. Note the little drop-tab to keep the line of the rear fender nice and consistent around the (flat-resistant) tire.
