You know, at first I thought this little wisenheimer was just messing with me when he told me his last name is Awesome, but after learning more about him I found he came from a long line of Awesomes. He is 16 and has been living in Italy for the last few years which, KV and I tell him, is going to get him mad babes. We ask him how to insult each other in Italian. It’s an enriching experience for everyone involved.

Look at this little guy hard at work. It just warms my heart. I will let him tell you all about himself in an exclusive interview with Wyatt Awesome and 21st Ave Bicycles.

The talented and handsome Brian Vernor did a little traveling south of the equator with the Jamis Mountain bike team. Hey I know we are not a Jamis dealer but we are a supporter of Vernor’s, and the one out weighs the other, capeesh. Brian does his fair share of traveling and being the sharer that he is Brian tends to photograph and film his exploits. A little something for us little people as he is constantly reminding me. Take a peak at the preview for his upcoming film and let your mouth water while you start to practice the present-tense conjugations of esperar

There have been reported sightings of the Grimm in NE Portland. If you happen to see the Grimm riding around town, do not attempt to pass him, this man is a bad ass.

Millions around the world were sadly disappointed yesterday when the rapture failed to carry them off into the heavens. Little did they know that the REAL rapture was going down at the Flying M Ranch. This rapture was not jeebus-approved, as it included beer, bikes and bullshitting. The day also included a healthy amount of blasphemy to ensure that if the god-based rapture did actually happen, we’d all get to stick around earth to ride for a few more months before the earth caved in.

Ok folks, the end of the world is upon us. Spend your last moments on earth cursing, drinking beer, and desperately trying to not get lost in the coast range on your bike. The final tally for the Rapture route is ~66 miles and ~7k elevation gain. It might not be super long, but it’s hard. And given the fact that even we got a bit turned around mapping out the final portion of the route this weekend, navigation skills might just trump speed in the overall picture. You can find the rest of the details here.

For those of you that signed up, expect to get an update today or tomorrow. If you don’t get it, check your spam filters - make sure you’re getting the “newsletter” email with all the final details. If you don’t find it there, email me directly and I’ll forward it on to you. [email protected].

If you plan on coming, please sign up by Thursday. I won’t be checking my emails on Friday, so you won’t get any details forwarded on to you. For those that signed up and can’t make it - please “unsubscribe” from the Rapture “newsletter” - it’s our only way of keeping track of who’s coming.

Thanks, and see you all Saturday!

I have to share this with you, I think it is amazing.

A trailer for the book you ask? I like to think of it as future atavism, a clever attempt to sell the script rights, or in this case a innovative way to process an author interview while giving us, the visually insatiable public, a multi-sensory sketch of the tone we can expect from the book. Grim, Grime, and Grit the three gnomes of noir and it looks like Wire to Wire set to hit book shelves everywhere June 1st, offers these, the adjectives of the underworld, in spades.
Juliet Zulu , Tin House Books Books have me searching for a seedy motel where I can close the blinds, pour my drinks to a depth of three fingers, and indulge in the wanderings of the less cautious.
