Man Power

I hear a lot of people don’t want to ride their bike because of the rain. This old guy didn’t let the poor weather conditions stop him from riding… in this commercial… that he got paid for. Be more bad ass than this guy. Ride.

Our Fizik reps Nat and James came into the shop yesterday to show us some new product, which we always appreciate because we are bike nerds.

Kyle was bummed to learn that there will be no American flag inside these shoes. He loves the USA.

Nat Ross with his gamer thumbs . Watch out, word on the street is he kills it at Virtua Fighter.

James Patrin gave me and Kyle the nod of approval and said we were worthy of some Fizik insoles. Here he is sizing mine.

Once they are sized, you put the insoles into this special machine that heats them up.

After they are heated you have to put your feet on them with pressure so they can mold to the contours of your foot.
Classic Kyle.

We are the favorite kid

We here at 21st are pretty charming and attractive and people like to show us how much they appreciate it with holiday gifts! Like this number from Chrome:

One thing any woman will tell you is you can never have too many bags, or shoes, but right now we are just talking about bags. Stay focused. Now, I know you are asking yourself, “there are 4 of you that work there. how are you going to decide who gets this fine satchel?” Easy…

I know there was more than 4 people in there, but you get the idea. Nothing says the holidays like a good ol’ fashion cage match. I mean, we are all friends here, but when SWAG like this comes in, its no holds barred.

I wish my fellow coworkers good luck in the cage and I hope we all make it out alive. There can be only one winner.

Thanks to all you crushers who came out for the Blind Date at the Dairy series. Big ups to Joe and Tony for putting it on. Not only are they handsome and funny, but they both physically fit. We here at 21st were proud to be a sponsor and look forward to next year. Hi five crushers. Hi five.

Look mom, I am popular!

The latest issue of Boneshaker Magazine made it’s way from across the pond to our shop. I was very flattered to be included in the piece about Portland artisans. The other interviews are with my friends, Ira Ryan, Jordan Hufnagel, Tony Pereira, and Tad Bamford. These guys all make bikes and bike accessories by hand. What do I make? Some would say a mess, others… a party. If you are asking me, I would say I make it awesome. Come into 21st and pick up your copy.

Tire’d of fun?

by Amanda on December 27, 2010 · 0 comments

Are you tired of getting tires for Xmas and don’t have a bike to put them on? Well, to remedy this problem you have a couple of options. You could come on down to 21st, we have plenty of bikes to go with your tires. Or you could repurpose those tires and have some other kind of fun with them. Here is Sean showing us there is more than one way to enjoy a tire. Look at him…. looks like he’s having fun. Right? Well, he is.

For the love of it.

It may just be another day at the bike shop but we are here to serve you. After working with our dedicated crew I am sure that we all have a passion for bicycles and making them awesome. When we see a bike walk through the door it is our goal to make sure that it is safe and that we did everything that we could arm you with the knowledge to make your bike functional. We do this because we care and we want you to be on your bike radiating smiles wherever you ride. And I am sure after visiting us you will have had some laughs, heard great music, get more high fives than you need, and your bike will sparkle with greatness. And all of this is included with service from us because we are here for the love of cycling.

We have another video coming up for the new year and while he was editing it, James decided it was missing a little something so he came into the shop on Christmas Eve (yes, we’re open) to shoot a couple of extra shots.
