21st Avenue Bicycles specializes in road bike sales, service and repairs. Located in NW Portland, Oregon, the shop can help you find the perfect bike for your ride. Bike commuting, road biking, racing or the casual cruise. 


Service, Repairs, & Maintenance

Bicycle Repair and Maintenance is important to you, and it's important to us. At 21st Avenue Bicycles, our team of seasoned mechanics will assess what your bike needs, explain how we're going to repair it, and get it back to you- usually within a couple days. We pride ourselves on our in-depth knowledge of all sorts of bicycles, modern and classic alike. We have uncommon expertise in rack and fender installation, hand building wheels, and dynamo-powered lighting systems. On-the-spot estimates are always free of charge.

Popular Services

Flat Fix

$13-14 for standard bicycles and tubes

Wheel Truing 

$15 for minor to moderate truing, $25 for significant truing, re-tensioning or spoke replacement.


$90, includes shifter and derailleur adjustment, brake adjustment/alignment, full adjustment of wheel, headset and bottom bracket bearings, wheel truing, lube and light cleaning


$240, includes full disassembly and cleaning of bicycle, cleaning and detailing of parts and frame, reassembly with fresh lubrication. Price includes all charges for parts installation. We will make your bicycle like new.




Custom Handbuilt Wheels

In addition to regular repair and maintenance our mechanics are happy to talk to you about custom hand built wheels.  We stock a number of rims and hubs from manufacturers such as Mavic, H +Son, Stans, Velocity, Chris King, Shimano and Surly. We will help design a pair of wheels made for the way you ride and can often have them ready in a couple days, thanks to our Phil Wood spoke machine.

Hand built wheel labor is $50 per wheel and includes a complimentary 100 mile truing/check over service.


Bicycle Fitting Services

Bicycle fit is important. Really important, and our fitters have the years of experience required to help you be your best on the bike. Your ride should be awesome every time you hop on your bike, whether you ride across town to work, pin a race number, or are gearing up to ride across the country. We work one-on-one with you to help you meet your goals and keep you comfortable, stable and efficient. Fits are generally done in the mornings before the shop is open, and require at least 2 hours a session. Call or email us to start the conversation.
